Us Millennials kind of got the short end of the stick in life. We inherited a ruined economy, most of us are in a crap-load of student debt, and then to round it all out our Baby Boomer parents like to blame us for being “lazy” and “entitled.” Not an entirely fair accusation coming from a generation that makes us work for free in exchange for “exposure.”
Anyway, enjoy these memes that might make you feel a little more understood as a member of Generation Y.
The war between Millennials and Baby Boomers has never been more pronounced! Twitter user @manhattanna tweeted earlier this week about a Facebook group in which Millennials communicate solely in Baby-Boomer lingo and let us just say, we’re HERE. FOR. IT. The group hits way too close to home for literally anyone who’s friends with a Baby Boomer on Facebook.
So without further ado, please enjoy a plethora of Minions, death announcements, and wildly inappropriately placed emojis!
Pretty much every person over the age of 50 loves to complain about how terrible the current generation is, from smart phones to our being “entitled” about everything (because God forbid we just want to eat, amirite?). So the next time an old person tries to pull that crap on you, just whip out this gallery of highly disturbing foods that the public actually used to consume throughout the 20th century, and we’re betting that it’ll shut down any and every argument they could possibly have about who the “best generation” is.
Oh look, Millennials are back at it ruining everything! A new survey conducted by Porch and tweeted out by Now This News claims that Millennials might be the worst generation at cooking ever, and that nearly 40% don’t even know what a butter knife is. Additionally, only about 40% know how to carve a turkey. The horror.
Porch surveyed 750 people of all ages, asking them if they considered themselves to be “good cooks” – just over 60% of Millennials answered yes, while well over 70% of Baby Boomers said the same.
Many on Twitter have pointed out that the reasoning and methods used by the surveyors is heavily flawed – it’s almost like hating on Millennials is all just a big marketing ploy to distract us from real problems! Lol nah, that can’t be it…
Social media can be a powerful tool when it comes to getting your comedic fix. We love Tumblr in particular for its cleverness, its cringe, and its straight fire comedy. Even if you yourself don’t have a Tumblr account, you can still appreciate the users on the site who really uphold the highest standards of wit!
Generation Y gets a lot of sh*t constantly for supposedly being lazy, entitled and easily offended. Are these things actually true? The answer to that is of course subjective, but if you’re a Millennial then you’ll know that stereotypes about us tend to be a bit (or a lot) overplayed, and these tweets make light of that.
If you’re feeling sad about how bored you are, then the good news is that you’re not alone. In this day and age, it’s pretty hard to not occasionally feel like the world is going to complete sh*t. Sometimes all it takes to make you feel a tad better is having a nice little chuckle, and we’re here to help you with just that.
“Not a Cell Phone in Sight” memes seem to have not an end in sight. If you’re not familiar with these satirical bits of nostalgia, they make fun of those who say that times were better before smart phones existed. Click here if you want to see part I!
